Death Note (デスノート, Desu Nōto^?)  The main character is Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the “Death Note”, dropped on Earth by a death god named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose name they know, by writing the name in the notebook while picturing their face. Nana (ナナ^?) The manga derives its title from the name of the two main characters, both of whom are called Nana. One comes from a small town and follows her friends and boyfriend to Tokyo with the hope of having the dream life that she wishes for. The other comes to Tokyo with the goal of making it big with her band, Black Stones. The series chronicles their friendship and their lives as each chases their dreams.
