Inter Library Loans @ Ultimo TAFE

What is an Interlibrary Loan?                                                                                    

This service is used to transfer requested materials from one library to another. The service supplements the library catalogue by providing books and other materials not available in the library collection, as well as supporting the study, research and teaching needs of  staff and students at Ultimo TAFE College. The Interlibrary Loan Service is available to current TAFE students enrolled at Ultimo and staff employed at Ultimo.

How do you request an ILL?          

Search the TAFE NSW library catalogue http://tafecat.tafensw.edu.au/tafecat.html for the item’s exact details (click on the Details button next to the item) and then complete and submit the InterLibrary form at the Loans desk . Library staff will then contact you when the item is available for collection.  It usually takes at least a week for an item to arrive at the Library.

Note: Interlibrary loans must be returned to Ultimo TAFE Library by the due date on the Interlibrary loans slip. If you have any questions, please contact the Inter Library Loans Officer on 9217 3222.

Regulations

Students:

• You may request a maximum of 1 Interlibrary loan at any one time
• Items requested must be related to your TAFE course, with a limit of one interlibrary loan at any one time.
• Fiction books are not available for Interlibrary loan

Staff:

• You may request a maximum of 4 Interlibrary loans including loans from a library outside of the TAFE NSW network. External Interlibrary loans are only available to staff. 
• Items requested must be related to your TAFE work or teaching area
• Fiction books are not available for Interlibrary loan unless it is related to your TAFE work or teaching area

Staff and Students

• Recreational DVDs are not available for Interlibrary loan
• Computer textbooks published within the current year and course-required textbooks are not available for Interlibrary loan
• ‘Local Loan only’ and ‘Institute loan only’ and Special Reserve and Reference items are not available for Interlibrary Loan.
