Ultimo TAFE Library is pleased to announce it has a new database called SMH Live view located in Docutek EReserve. The SMH Digital edition is available to staff and students of Ultimo Campus only. Please ask the library staff for the password to access this database.
Use this database to search for newspaper articles from the Sydney Morning Herald. The database includes sections such as My Career and the classifieds. It includes all images and layout as it is a picture of the page.
SMH Digital edition coverage begins at January 2006. It includes all images and layout as it is a picture of the page. The SMH Digital edition does not show articles published more recently than three weeks ago.
Coverage previous to 2006 in text format can be found in two of our databases: ANZRC and Factiva. The website www.smh.com.au has access to all recently published articles.
SMH Live view allows you to search using a variety of methods. You are able to
-
conduct a basic search : Simply type in a term or series of terms and see what is available
-
browse the archive: This option allows you to select from a calendar or search between dates and a whole lot more
-
conduct an advanced search : The Advanced search option allows you to run searches using Boolean, Fuzzy searching or Symbol Searching.
Once you have found an article or images you are able to save it to your My Collection tab, thus creating a list of saved articles that you can refer back to while logged on to the database.
