National VET Regulator

The Ministerial Council on Tertiary Education and Employment will be considering the Intergovernmental Agreement for the National VET Regulator in June 2010 and it will then be presented to COAG for agreement.

The Commonwealth Government has announced that the legislation to implement the National VET Regulator should be introduced in the spring sittings this year.

The design and operations of the National VET Regulator and the Tertiary Education Quality and
Standards Agency (TEQSA) will be closely aligned.

It is envisaged that the National VET Regulator will be operational from April 2011 and will be integrated with TEQSA in 2013. Read more
