Welcome to new and continuing students and staff. The library has undergone a few changes during the winter break. Greig Thomson, our Library Manager has retired, and we also have some new staff to help you locate library resources.
Teachers may have booked for students to attend an orientation tour or library skills workshop. If not, we look forward to seeing you at the library some time soon.

National Simultaneous Storytime

May 24th, 2011 Posted by okaras in display, events, Internet resources, Library week | Post a Comment »

Every year, at many locations around Australia, the same children’s book is read to thousands of people at the same time. National Simultaneous Storytime is held during Library and Information Week and this year it will be held on Wednesday 25th May at 11:00am. This year’s book is “Feathers for Phoebe” by Rod Clement, an Australian tale about appearances not being everything (among other things). St George College Library will be taking part in this event at Kameruka Cottage. The children at the childcare centre have made some beautiful artwork based on the book on display in the library during Library and Information Week.

Resources including Podcasts and an audio book for eReaders are available for download from the National Simultaneous Storytime website at http://www.alia.org.au/storytime/resources.html.
