Congratulations and thank you to all who participated in putting the puzzle together.

To all the teachers and students that produced and brought work for us to display during Library and Information Week – Thank you. Your efforts helped St George College Library celebrate the week all the more. Thanks also to the Student Association for providing the prizes for the competitions; much appreciated, and thank you to the teachers who brought their classes to the library during the week to see the displays and enter the competitions.
A few of you came close, but amazingly, only one person guessed the right amount of jelly snakes in the jar to win the jar and its contents. Congratulations!

St George College Director Russell Scott did the honours of drawing competition entries for prizes for the Library and Information Week competitions. The four lucky people will be contacted shortly. Congratulations and thank you to all who entered and to the Student Association for donating the prizes.
A main part of Library and Information Week at St George College Library are the different competitions you can enter to win prizes donated by our Student Association. All you need is a current TAFEcard to go on a treasure hunt to Locate Libby and Leo, enter the Library Quiz, match the word with the picture, or guess the number of snakes in the jar. There is also a maze you can try and draw your way through. Last chance to enter the competitions for fabulous prizes including movie tickets or a USB are by close of Library on Friday 27 May 2011.
Also, come and try to put a piece or two in our Community Jigsaw of an ocean scene.
Every year, at many locations around Australia, the same children’s book is read to thousands of people at the same time. National Simultaneous Storytime is held during Library and Information Week and this year it will be held on Wednesday 25th May at 11:00am. This year’s book is “Feathers for Phoebe” by Rod Clement, an Australian tale about appearances not being everything (among other things). St George College Library will be taking part in this event at Kameruka Cottage. The children at the childcare centre have made some beautiful artwork based on the book on display in the library during Library and Information Week.

Resources including Podcasts and an audio book for eReaders are available for download from the National Simultaneous Storytime website at http://www.alia.org.au/storytime/resources.html.
St George College Library is celebrating its 25th year of being in Building B. Come and see the history display during Library and Information Week showing the library’s humble beginnings in Montgomery St and Building A, and its construction to be what it is today. Come and celebrate our Silver Jubilee.
