TAFE NSW Library Network eJournal A-Z

The TAFE NSW Library Network eJournal A – Z is a hosted service from EBSCO, for which we have a 12 month subscription. It provides an A to Z listing, and the ability to search, for eJournal titles that are available from the databases to which TAFE NSW libraries have a state-wide subscription. Please note that the non-journal state-wide subscription databases are not included. To view a listing of the databases that are included, see the Databases A-Z tab within the eJournal A-Z product.

The TAFE NSW Library Network eJournal A – Z, is also accessible from TAFEcat. On the eResources page in TAFEcat, there is now a new heading called “Search for eJournal titles” and below the heading, there is a link to the eJournal A-Z product.

No authentication is required to access and search the TAFE NSW Library Network eJournal A – Z product. You will be asked to authenticate, using the existing TAFEcat eResources authentication pages, at the point where you try to access a journal title.

Can you guess our hottest title at the moment? You can find out on TAFEcat after selecting St George as your local library.


You might also like to browse the list of New items added to the collection over the summer vacation. There are books on information technology, sociology, finance, real estate, human resources, fine arts, graphic design, etc.

New movie DVD, music CD and fiction collections

The library recently bought a range of movie DVD’s, music CD’s and fiction for our students’ entertainment. They all have been processed and  are ready for borrowing. If you are interested in the full list of movie DVD, Music CD or fiction collections, please visit TAFE NSW Library Network Catalogue website and following the tips below then you can make your favoured choice.

Open catalogue website: http://tafecat.tafensw.edu.au/tafecat.html
Select St George College Library then click “go to the library”
In the “quick search” box select and click “power search”
Then Select  -  library: St George College Library; location: DVD Collection; item catalogue1: DVD; after all please click “search” .
At this stage a full list of DVD should come out.  You can select one of your favourite and click “Details” to see DVD number and availabilities.
Use CD instead of DVD and repeat the above steps to obtain Music CD full list.
If you are looking for the fiction, please leave location as ANY, item catalogue1 as Book and item catalogue2 as Fiction and repeat the above process.

The NSW TAFE Library Catalogue will not be available between the 25th December 2009 and the 10th January 2010, due to work being carried out on it.

You may have noticed that the library catalogue had a bit of a face lift when we went to the new version of library software in October.  Have you noticed that since that time when you go to do a search on the catagloue you get a list of HOTTEST ITEMS?

What are these hottest items?  Quite simply they are the items that have been the most popular (have been borrowed the most) in the last 30 days.  The links are refreshed every weekend.

TAFE catalogue will be down over a number of weekends

System maintenance work is being done on the library system over a number of weekends. During this time the catalogue (TAFEcat) will be down and you will not be able to renew you items online.  We apologise for the inconvenience it may cause.

Maintenance work starts the last weekend of October and will continue until mid December.
