Another jigsaw puzzle has been completed at West Street Library. This time it was completed by two Child Studies students: Cassie Prater and Carina Tattersall. We are finding the puzzles are very popular with students. There are always new puzzles on the go. Puzzles are good for relieving stress. Come and relax with our new puzzles at both Crystal Street and West Street libraries.
National Simultaneous Storytime was held as part of Library and Information Week. This year’s featured title was “Too many elephants in this house” written by Ursula Dubosarsky and illustrated by Andrew Joyner. It was read aloud to children from Petersham College Childcare Centre by library staff on Monday 19th May at 11:00 am.
Library and Information Week was celebrated last week (19th to 25th May). In keeping with this year’s theme of “Join the dots” Petersham Library held a number of activities to demonstrate the range of services offered, focussing on the library as a recreational space: chess, Sudoku and Scrabble matches were held daily and played by students against library staff. An enjoyable time was had by all.
Thank you to Petersham students and staff for supporting the Salvation Army Christmas Angel Team Gift Program by donating new toys or non-perishable food items.
