A few weeks ago I interviewed Peter Templeton, editor in chief of subtitles at SBS. Yesterday I had a chat with Donna Tieri, subtitler of Italian, also with SBS.
Listen to our conversation to learn about what a subtitler does, and how it is different from what the editor does. Donna draws a very interesting picture of subtitling in Australia, its beginnings, the technological changes it has gone through and its future. She talks about her personal journey into subtitling and encourages young people to maybe pursue it as a possible career.
You can print this workseet beforehand. It will help you with the vocabulary and comprehension.
