National Sorry Day is recognised as a National Day of Commemoration and Rememberance. A day to honour the Stolen Generations and all that they have endured and all that has been lost through the removal of generations of Aboriginal children as a result of the Forced Removal Policies of the past.

The theme for this year’s National Sorry Day continues as, “SORRY. Still Living On Borrowed Time!” in recognition that there is still a lot to be done to achieve justice for the Stolen Generations.

Corporate Culcha, the Australian Government and the National Rugby League (NRL) held the Connecting Kooris to Careers Youth Job expo 2010 aimed at connecting NSW Indigenous youth with future employment and careers. The Expos enabled Indigenous job seekers and future job seekers to meet, talk to and connect with a wide variety of local and national employers on the day and provide them with the exciting opportunity to mingle with their NRL heroes.

Corporate Culcha, in collaboration with Dare to Lead for Business
corporate partners and the network of Dare to Lead schools,
is focused on facilitating Indigenous student’s transition
from school to employment and supporting Indigenous job
seekers into jobs made available by local and regional industry.

The Expos have already attracted the attention of many high
profile corporations and Government Departments looking to
recruit young Indigenous leaders of tomorrow.

The Yulang Aboriginal Education Training Unit attended the 2010 ‘Connecting Kooris to Careers Youth Job Expo’ held in ANZ Stadium Homebush in June. Some 561 students attended the day.
