“SYDNEY DESIGN WILL NOT BE HELD IN 2012
The Powerhouse Museum’s Sydney Design festival will not proceed in 2012. Like all areas across government, the Powerhouse Museum is required to identify savings. “It is regretful that the Powerhouse Museum cannot program Sydney Design in 2012; it is a decision that has not come easily,” says Director of the Powerhouse Museum, Dr Dawn Casey.
“Led by a creative and innovative Museum team, Sydney Design has grown exponentially over its 15 years to be an internationally recognised city-wide festival, supported and embraced by the design community and general public.”
“We value the significant contribution of all of our Sydney Design partners and participants and look forward to working with them on future successful festival programs,” says Dr Casey.
The Powerhouse Museum remains a strong advocate of design and will continue its mandate to develop design exhibitions, programs and events that showcase and help to support the growth of the design industry in Australia. We look forward to delivering a world-class event for Sydney Design 2013.
