It’s better to travel well than to arrive

I would have to disagree with Buddha on that one, as when I arrived at the JAA International Jewellery Fair at Darling Harbour last Tuesday I felt as though all my dreams had come true. There was a fantastic array of jewellery of all types to admire and I found myself reflecting on my cousin who married a millionaire at the age of 23 and wondering where I went wrong ….
My favourite stands include the delightful sterling silver Blue Turtles, whose Poetic Pieces collection feature inspirational quotes such as the one above by Buddha inscribed onto a variety of jewellery.
The Danish company Spinning Jewelery offers a new twist on customer designed products with their gorgeous rings, ear-rings and charms which can be combined to give a new look – check out their innovative website to design your own virtual piece of jewellery.
My absolute favourite is local designerSarah Jane Adams whose experience in the antiques industry inspired her beautiful vintage and antique style pieces in her SJ Jewels and Whispers collection. Her stunning egg pendants also serve as delightful ornaments when they are placed in miniature display stand.
If you missed the show this year I recommend you don’t make the same mistake next year!
