Vodcasting on the go!

A teacher recently contacted me this week with a request for advice on a mobile vodcasting rig to conduct interviews while traveling overseas.

They own an iPhone 6 and want to record interviews for use in an online course.

We have gone for this option

Mini tripod adapter

iStabilizer make a range of Tripod adapters for smartphones and tablets which are great for recording stable video. We have opted for this option which will also allow the phone to be mounted on a regular camera tripod if required.

Microphone

The main issue with using a smartphone for video recording is the quality of the audio, it’s essential to have a separate microphone

iRig make a range of microphones which plug directly into smartphones and tablets

Remote

One of these would be very useful to initiate recording

Smartphones are transforming journalism and in recent years a new term Mobile journalism has emerged to refer to the use of connected portable devices to reporting in the field, often by one person.

Educators need to follow the lead :>

Thanks for this, Steph. I wonder if I can use my belkin mic. It is the one I used all the time with my apple classic ipod.
