Some of you may remember the E-standards component of the National VET eLearning Strategy, well they are still active and are conducting a survey on commonly used e-learning tools to inform a publication update.

The purpose of this survey is to update the Commonly Used Tools in VET, last reviewed in 2012. This publication is a companion document to the Teacher E-learning Toolkit.

They currently have 11 sections describing the types of tools you need to support you when developing e-learning or interacting online with your students, and they are looking for feedback on which software tools and applications trainers use in vocational education and training in Australia.

The sections are currently categorised as Web-based and Desktop-based, but we will be adding a section to cater for Mobile-based, to contain apps that are specific to smartphones and tablets.

The 2012 versions of the documents are available for download from

The survey should take between 10 and 15 minutes. It will close on 1st June 2015.
