AUSTAFE National Videoconference – Leadership in a Competitive Environment

AUSTAFE members and guests are invited to join in this  National videoconference with Guest Speaker
Victor Callan, Professor and Management Cluster Leader, The University of Queensland & Kay Giles, Institute Director, SkillsTech Australia

On Wednesday 25th March AUSTAFE is delivering a national videoconference to discuss Leadership in a Competitive Environment. Victor Callan and Kay Giles have been invited to deliver this topic to AUSTAFE members and guests.
Victor Callan is a Professor of Management and Management Cluster Leader in The University of Queensland Business School where his research focus is on organisational behaviour and in particular on aspects of organisational change, workplace communication, performance review, and leadership.

Victor has also completed research into the vocational education and training sector for various government bodies throughout Australia involved in developing the skills of Australia’s workforce. His most recent VET work is on e-learning in the trades, and accelerated apprenticeships, while he has designed and delivered management and leadership development to VET leaders Australia-wide.

Kay Giles is currently the Institute Director for SkillsTech Australia and has spent the whole of her working life in vocational education and training and has a passion for the contribution that VET can make to the success of the economy, industry, enterprises and individuals.

The videoconference will allow for question time, however due to the large scale of the videoconference it will be run a little differently. If you have any questions during the videoconference you will be asked to email them in, so make sure that you all have your Blackberrys, remote laptops, etc. hooked up to send in those questions by email.
